2004-05-29 - 1:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon brought pain I've known before. Stabbing, waxing and waning pain that can one minute drop me to my knees and the very next make me feel a-ok. I suffered for a few hours and then called Dr Hong. His suggestion? Wait out the weekend. I called the chiro and his wife (who has had kidney stones while pregnant) suggested I call the OB as well as come in on Friday to get points treated with some accupuncture. I called the OB and was instructed to report to the Labor and Delivery Unit for tests. I got up there, got in the nasty gown and peed in a cup. They brought in an ultrasound machine and checked for evidence of the little bugger, but to no avail. The UA showed a bladder infection, but I'll say this: once I peed for the UA, my pain was gone. GONE. Even though the tests said no stone, I'm pretty sure I passed it before they had a chance to look for it because I had residual pain on Friday. The good news is, well, obvious because my pain is gone but also because the tech did a sweep over the belly and we saw the bambino's peepers right there out in the open. Good to know-I can take the tags off all the blue stuff now!
