this was SO me last night!

Recap for those who don't read the lj (and repeat of most for those who do)

I must start this out by giving a giant thanks to %%diary-oddly-enough%% for letting me escape Omaha for a few days and for showing me a fantastic time.

Thursday night she took me out with Salmon Patty for drinks at The Flying Saucer and somehow, despite not being charged for 2 t-shirts, our tab came to near $120! Holy crap did we have beverages! We had nose aerobics and many laughs.

Friday-we go to Torrid to make a return and end up in the store for a LONG time.....man can Katielou power shop! Ask her about the PINK dress....go on-I dare you! After much mental anguish, I caved and bought myself a cute little dress that would have been great for Sunday night if I had been confident enough to try to pull off the look (side note-was good plan to wear black t and capris). We got back to the house just in time to meet up with Dramamine and go for dinner. It was a good thing I stood my ground or else I would have ended up eating what she was determined to make me eat and I did get yelled at for choosing the chair caddycorner from Katielou. We went to Onion Creek (a new coffee-house/beer and wine place) and Dramamine strategically places herself in between KL and I, and turns her back to me. I sat there for a while and was quiet and eventually she sat back so I could become a part of the group again. Their friend Brian showed up (cute boy-too bad he's into men) and we moved over to a couch in the corner where Dramamine takes over the conversation for a while and I just sat and listened. After a while, he left to head to another bar and my head ached enough to want to go back to KL's, so Dramamine took us back and bid adieu for the evening. KL and I stayed up talking until around 4 and then crashed.

Saturday-KL let me sleep until around 1 and then we cleaned up, went to her dad's for dinner and then headed back to the house to meet up with Dramamine to go for a birthday party at the "paint it yourself" pottery place. Good times there, however my fish looked pretty sad before firing, so I can only imagine just how sad it'll look afterwards. We went back to the house and had wine, cheese and lots of laughter as we watched the birthday girls open their gifts and then play. People filtered out and a smaller group of us went to Star pizza (mmmm) and then an even smaller group of us (KL, Salmon Patty, and myself) went back to the house to chat a bit. I really like Patty. She's smart, but very silly and has a great sense of humor.

Sunday-we lounged around, watched Donnie Darko and then got ready to head over to the Continental for lots of great tunes and fun times. Aside from the Mexican ska band that was entirely too loud and played too long, I've found a new admiration for cute greasy boys. Cute Guitar Man who plays for Chad Thomas and the Crazy Kings caught my eye more than once (and it seemed that we seemed to catch one another's, as we managed to make eye contact several times) and then I saw Matt Hole walk through the place and then the drool REALLY began....lmao! The music, the men, the beers......I'm thinking I could really learn to like this stuff!!! We got back to the house around 1:30 and no sooner did I get my shoes and socks off, I announced that I was starving and "twisted" KL's arm into going to Spanish Flower for food. That place is SO fantastic!! Went back home and were up burning cds for hours and didn't see the pillow until almost 4 again.

Today-got up, borrowed a second bag for all the stuff I didn't have room for-KL hooked me up once again with clothes and goodies-and I did the whole mental prep for my return to life in Omaha. The airport wouldn't let me check in at the curb so I had to go inside, but that went pretty smoothly and I had time to check out the shops there and pick up a new book. I didn't know it, but someone I used to work with (and flew out to Houston on the same flight with) was on the return flight fairly close to where I was sitting and we talked for a little bit. I got a lot of reading done and the flight went smoothly. The G met me at the top of the ramp and he took me for food and now we're home and happy.

Now if only I could find some people on KaZaa Lite who had some of that awesome rockabilly I heard last night.....

%%diary-oddly-enough%%, I love you my friend! Thank you so much!!!!
