Lots o' stuff, nothing of any real importance.

Saturday became "errand day" thanks, largely in part, to having to leave town Saturday night and needing all this stuff to be done. The G set his alarm for a very unrealistic hour Saturday morning (6:15, which on his clock means 5:45) with the intent to go run before we got the day rolling. Um, yeah. Didn't happen. He finally shut the damned thing off for good at 8:30 and went running. With him, there is no such thing as a "short run". He piddles around and then takes his sweet time with the run, and the next thing you know, it's almost noon and he's still not home yet! Anyway, I got up and got moving while he was gone and then as soon as he had time to shower, we were off and rolling. The list: shoes for work, tonkatsu sauce from Aki Oriental for %%diary-oddly-enough%%, card and gift for Carla, gift bag for Gramma, Slime Meats for cheap toilet paper, and I think we had one other stop in there somewhere. Anyway, we got everything we needed, spending equal amounts of time trying to decide on a bottle of wine/champagne for Carla and finding shoes for The G. We got home with enough time to pack overnight bags and run out again. We hit Carla's graduation party which was fine-mostly people we didn't know but a few we did (and a couple I really don't like but The G swears we'll have to have dinner with them some time-gah), and then I pretty much commanded we stop at Supah Tarzhay for *$ because I had chauffered his ass around all morning and I had NOT had coffee all week so by golly, I was getting my damned coffee before we left town. Needless to say, I got my coffee, he got a soda and a giant bag of chips and we were on our way. We hit C-town about 8:30ish and had a late supper with his folks, then attempted to watch "Frequency"-a movie The G and I have seen but the inlaws have not, and now that we sat through it, they still haven't seen it. His dad passed out in the chair 20 minutes in, and his mom lasted about an hour more before they were both breathing very deeply and making sleepy sounds from their chairs. Sunday morning brought a GIANT breakfast (you'd think that they live to make a big assed breakfast on Sundays) and mentions of hitting Penney's for pants for The G (note to anyone who gets ink on your clothes-modern aerosol hairspray won't get it out, and it'll only leave an oil stain-use isopropyl alchohol). I don't think we made it to Penney's until close to 3, then there was the familiar stop at G-ma's to see if she wanted to come over for dinner (we took her quilt with us there in case she didn't want to eat with us), then to the grocery, and then back to the farm. The G and I took G-ma home around 7:30 and then we skeedaddled out of C-town and hit Omaha about 9:30. Highlight of the trip home was getting up side by side with a vintage Corvette and rolling down the window to ask what year it was (66). The G couldn't believe I'd done it....all I kept thinking was "At least I didn't ask for a ride in it!!"
