2003-04-02 - 1:11 p.m.

Wednesday is Shot Day. It used to be on Mondays but then I got the flu so I pushed it off until I saw the doctor next, which was a Tuesday and then for a while I had my shots on Tuesdays but then I had a cough so I waited until I saw the doctor on a Wednesday and so then I now go on Wednesdays. ANYWAY, since the middle of January when I was supposed to start Point Counters Anonymous, I've been weighing on shot day since I don't have an accurate scale and I figure I'm already at the doc's office, so why not? I'm there often enough, I know how to work it and they don't slap my hand when I push the buttons on it, so I go for it. I mean, where else can I weigh on a $400 all electrical, all bells and whistles scale for free? Well, I guess techinically it's NOT free since my insurance pays for the nurse's visits and..... I digress.

So today I go in for my shot and I get on the scale like I always do, dreading the number it tells me (thankfully it doesn't have the audio measurement for those visually impaired) and it read back a number I haven't seen since right before I went to Houston to meet %%diary-oddly-enough%% in 2001. I giggled. I let out a noise I've never heard myself make. Apparently it was loud enough to draw the attention of the entire front desk staff and a couple of nurses because all of a sudden, I had an audience. I was beaming. I did a little dance and scooted back into the room where I was supposed to be sitting quietly while waiting to see if I'd have an anaphalactic reaction to my serum. I sat there with such a grin on my face and was compelled to bust out The Notebook-the paper journal that Oddly-Enough and I share-and add an entry. No sooner did I start writing when the timer went off and Kim sent me home.

Ironically, I'm celebrating my loss with a Chocolate Brownie Frappuccino and some Southwestern Egg Rolls. wheeeeeeeeeee!!
